Richard otte  -  president & ceo

 

Mr. Otte has been the President & CEO of PROMEX INDUSTRIES INC since 1995.

 

Prior to that he was the General Manager of AMP’s (now Tyco’s) Passive Fiber Optic Products Subsidiary in Palo Alto, CA.

 

From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Otte was President of Advanced Packaging Systems, a Raychem business unit in San Jose, CA, that developed and sold microelectronic packaging solutions utilizing co-fired ceramic, thin film and planar optical waveguide technologies.

 

Prior to that, Mr. Otte was with Raychem for 20+ years, in technical, operations, financial and business development positions, many of which related to the electronics industry.

 

Early in his career, Mr. Otte was an electronics engineer.

 

He has 8 patents, is a member of several professional organizations including IEEE, IPC, OSA and SMTA and is a member of the Jisso North American Council (JNAC), the iNemi Optoelectronics Roadmap sub-Committee, the IPC Interconnect Roadmap Committee, the ITRS A&P Roadmap activity, and the SMTA and Verdant Electronics Advisory Boards.

 

He has a BSEE and an MSEE from MIT and an MBA from Harvard University.

George Laurie  -  COO

George has extensive background in Operations Management spanning over 30 plus years. The majority of his experience has been in the high tech electronics industry. George’s background includes Operations, Engineering, Quality, Business Development and Program Management/ Customer Service responsibilities.

Mr. Laurie originally joined Promex in 1996 as the Director of Manufacturing. He left Promex in 2000 to join a start-up Contract Manufacturing organization where he helped guide the company to $30 Million in annual revenue over a six year period.

George re-joined Promex in 2006 as COO.

He has developed numerous operational projects ranging from high speed automated equipment to compete product re-design. Mr. Laurie holds and Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, has four patents and is an active member of APICS, the American Production & Inventory Control Society.

 

 

 

Chris pugh  -  vp sales & Marketing

Mr. Pugh joined Promex in 2001, responsible for Sales & Marketing.

 

Chris has traveled extensively on business throughout Europe, Japan, Asia and South America. Prior to joining PROMEX, Chris worked for twenty plus years at Raychem Corporation (now Tyco Electronics) where he was most recently the Director of Sales – Electronics Division responsible for six high technology electronics market segments spanning Asia and Latin America.

 

During his Raychem career, Mr. Pugh held key international Marketing, Market Management, Business Development, Sales Engineer and Operations positions within the Electronics Division including residing in Paris, France for three years in a European Product Management leadership role.

 

He gained start-up experience in an emerging e-Commerce firm and has performed several international business consulting projects. Chris is an active member of several semiconductor industry associations.

 

Mr. Pugh holds a B.A. in Economics & Commerce from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and an MBA (International Business) from the University of San Francisco.

Dr. Edward binkley  -  CTO

Dr. Binkley has over thirty years of new technology development, product scale-up, and manufacturing process innovation in the telecommunications, datacom, defense electronics, display and IC packaging markets for Bell Labs, Raychem Corporation (now Tyco Electronics) and Promex Industries. He joined Promex in 2002. 

He has extensive startup experience as a founder of Lightwave Microsystems and Poa Sana Incorporated which included development and process line facility engineering as well as regulatory statute compliance in California.   

Ed has developed a wide base of technical contacts in Europe, Japan and Canada after traveling extensively in these areas and being based in the United Kingdom for four years in a Research & Development role with Raychem.   His career experience includes managing numerous joint international product development projects with large and small technical partners, as well as fund raising from both government and private sources.  

Dr. Binkley received a Bachelors degree from Colorado College and a Ph.D. (Chemistry) from the University of California, Berkeley.

Yvonne Esquer  - Human resources & administrative manager

Yvonne joined Promex Industries in 1999.

 

Yvonne has held leadership positions in human resources, and business operations expanding over a variety of industries, including Government, Manufacturing Operations and Service industries.

 

She has played an integral part in developing the human resource function for start-up companies as well as acquisitions & mergers.

 

Yvonne received her BS degree from the University of San Francisco. She specialized in Organization Behavior, and is an active member of NCHRA, SHRM, and the Santa Clara County EAC.
